Being active has so many benefits to our health and our environment. Moving, physical activity and sport can change lives, not only by supporting good physical health, but also by making us feel happier, helping us to be more productive in our personal and working lives, and even by improving quality of sleep. Moving more can reduce the risk associated with many of these conditions, and where there are opportunities for all groups to move together, communities can thrive, and this brings many benefits. Moving with others, for example, can prevent social isolation, which in turn can reduce the risk of both cardiovascular disease and dementia.
