County Durham Adult Health and Wellbeing Survey 2025
In February 2025, we asked adults in County Durham to tell us about their health, wellbeing, and daily lives. We are pleased to now be able to share the report with residents and partners.
The report shares the key findings and themes emerging from the data and will be published here in the near future.
Our Joint Strategic Needs and Assets Assessment (JSNAA) identified gaps in knowledge about communities, especially in smaller local areas. This highlighted the requirement for a deeper understanding of community needs and experiences, especially for the priority areas outlined in the Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy (JLHWS). Health and wellbeing surveys are valuable tools that help local authorities, and their partners understand the health and wellbeing of their residents. The results can support joint work to improve health and wellbeing, reduce unfair differences in outcomes and positively impact residents’ quality of life and place.
The survey is intended to run every three years. This will give the Health and Wellbeing Board and other partners a comprehensive data set about County Durham residents’ physical and mental health, as well as information about the things they do and experience in daily life.
The survey findings will help the council and partners stay informed about their communities and support strategic decision-making. This information will shape service planning, action to reduce health inequalities, and improvements to support for residents across County Durham.
