Premature and Preventable Mortality

JSNA > Ageing Well

Premature mortality can be used as an important measure of the overall health of County Durham’s population and as an indicator of inequality between and within areas.

Preventable mortality is defined in the Public Health Outcomes Framework as ‘death that could potentially be avoided by public health interventions’.
